poem: just me

(82 words) 19 Jun 2018

by S.R.A. Markin

i am jealous watching them pass by
holding hands looking each other in the eyes
maybe debating where to go
or talking about where they were
how nice it is to have each other
nothing matters
on such a beautiful day

i wonder if they are still together when it rains?
i wonder if in time they can work through the pain?
or is this just another honeymoon phase?
that ends
in heart break. broken

i’m nearly six months recovered
from you. still broken though.
still here. not you.

but i was there
with you
dipping in the delightful honeymoon
walking without gravity
holding hands and seeing the stars
within your eyes and the galaxies of lies

no more love poems.
